The term Line Dancing comes from the fact that you dance a routine in a formation of parallel lines.
A line dance routine is generally made up of a series or sequence of moves that is repeated over and over to one piece of music. These sequences can be from simple and easy to extremely difficult depending on the level it was choreographed for. Each song generally has its own dance choreographed to it.A line dance is often repeated facing different directions or “walls” which in itself makes the grey matter work, and even though it is structured, you can always add your own personality and freedom to it.
A partner is not required making it extremely popular dance, for both singles and also those whose spouse can’t or won’t dance.
It doesn’t matter your age, sex or physical abilities, anyone can get up and give it a go. Some people find it easy and helpful to get their hands on a DVD so that you can learn the basics at home and get some confidence prior to joining in a class. Check out Liz’s DVD’s here.
