Line Dancing Is Fun!

The Benefits of Learning to Line Dance

Happy Dancing – Liz and Paul

With shows on TV like “Dancing With the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance” people are taking up dancing in droves. Line Dancing is no different and apart from the pure enjoyment of it there are many other benefits both physical, mental and social..

  • Strength.
You will develop muscles you didn’t even know existed just by the resistance required to move your own body weight.
  • Endurance.
By training your muscles to work over an extended period of time will build your endurance while benefiting your cardiovascular fitness. Minimum of 20 – 30 minutes a day is the recommended exercise times and if you incorporate line dancing the time will fly by.
Of course Check with your doctor before starting on any physical exercise.
  • Flexibility.
Part of exercising is warming up and cooling down, which should include stretches. Looser neck, shoulders, legs etc will result. Your range of motion should also improve with stretching.
  • Socializing and Making Friends.
As mentioned on our website www.LineDance.com.au, line dancing is a great way of meeting new and interesting people with similar interests.
  • Improved Self-Esteem and Body Image.
  • Confidence – The New “You”
Your friends will all be saying to you “I want whatever you are on
  • Memory
Each Line dance is choreographed and danced to one piece of music. There are literally thousands of dances out there. Just learning them (no not all of them) will help your memory functions.
